Itinerary

After you are there, make your way through customs to the very intriguing duty-free shops! The traditional salutation "Ayubowan," which means "I wish you a long and healthy life," will be used by our host to welcome you. This will enter our lexicon when we are in Sri Lanka. Afterward, our transfer whisks us away, and we immediately go to the hotel.

Stay overnight in Negombo.

After breakfast, we proceed to the Sigiriya (North Central part of the island). In addition, we could visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (Optional) in Kegalle.

Once we arrive at our destination (To Sigiriya), check in to the hotel and have a relaxing time. Next, have a Village Safari in Hiriwaduna and experience the local lifestyle as well as the cooking experience. Evening you will be taken to your next attraction (Pidurangala Rock) to see the magical sun rays laying on the rock of Sigiriya.

Day 3 :
Sigiriya

You have an early breakfast (7.30 AM) before venturing through the banks of the Kandalama Wewa Reservoir. Lush hills and verdant plains lead to the captivating mountaintops that surround the ancient reservoir's banks. Then your guide will lead you through the jungle to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, where you will climb ancient steps to the top. At the top, there are beautiful frescoes, a mirror wall, and a final stairway built through huge lion paws carved into the rock.

Afterward, your guide will accompany you for a safari at Minneriya National the park which expands over 20000 acres and stronghold of wild Elephants.

Stay overnight at Sigiriya.

After breakfast, travel to the Cave Temple of Dambulla, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has many Buddhist features, statues, and frescoes. About 80 temples make up the complex, which also has 153 Buddha statues and a ton of beautiful frescoes and rock paintings. The fantastic views and the temples, which are worth every effort, make the brief ascent worthwhile despite the fact that it can be strenuous.

Next on the way In additionally, visit Matale Hindu temple which flaunts a spectrum of colors. Located at the Centre of the island and these cave temples are masterpieces of Buddhist art. Each is filled with murals depicting scenes from the Buddha’s life, and Gilded statues of Buddha in various poses.

After that, the route continues to Kandy., Moreover visit the Nalanda Gedige (Midpoint of the Island)/ Matale Aluvihara Temple. After arrival to the city of Kandy, check-in at the hotel. Evening you have the opportunity to visit the Temple of Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) & witness a Cultural Dance.

After breakfast from the hotel & start the journey to Nuwara Eliya. In addition, visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens “which has 4000 species of plants including many beautiful florae that are unique to Sri Lanka. On the route in addition to Ramboda Water Falls/ Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple/ Waterfalls & Experience the Tea Plantation)

After you arrive at Nuwara Eliya, have a tour around the city.

We start a different day by Trekking at Horton Plains and the hotel will provide you with breakfast to take away with you. “Horton Plains is a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is covered by montane grassland and cloud forest."

After the trekking, you will travel to Kithulgala in the evening. On the way, you will be able to see Devon & St. Claire Waterfalls. And spend the overnight in Maskeliya.

Early in the morning (02.00 am), start to climb the Adams peak that spreads up to starry heavens. Adams Peak is a mountain in Sri Lanka that is very popular for its Sri Pada, Sacred foot. Most of the journey will be through the unexploited jungle that surrounds the mountain. Buddhists believe that the impression of the foot on the top of the mountain is of Lord Buddha himself. This mountain is also known as butterfly mountain (Samanala Kanda) considering a vast number of butterflies roams around the mountain. Once you reach the top then the spectacular event of Sunrise starts. The sun almost leaps over the eastern horizon drawing a perfect triangle of a shadow of the mountain spreading over the western backdrop of the mountain. As the sun keeps on rising, the shadow shifts towards the base of the mountain until it completely disappears, with a grand finale of the breathtaking natural spectacle.

After that, relax you can proceed to Kithulgala & enjoy adventurous White Water Rafting & Kayaking in Kthulgala and the evening proceed to Colombo to spend your
last night on this Tropical Island.

Following breakfast, we continue directly to Colombo and have a city excursion throughout the hustling buzzing city of Colombo and to collect some sweet memories from this Tropical Island.

Afterward, have quick refreshments and your guide will bring you to the airport, depending on the timing of your flight to have a safe journey back to your home!!!

Frequently asked Questions

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will to, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, hot water facility could be free at lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during off season.

It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.

    – From the 14th day to the 8th day before departure: 20% of the travel price.

    – From the 3rd day before departure: 100% of the travel price.
