Itinerary

At Bandaranayke International Airport's arrival terminal, a representative from our organization serving as your tour guide will be there to meet and greet you.
Depending on your mood and arrival time, you can either relax in the hotel after a tiring flight, go solo and explore the busy town, or take a boat tour (Optional) to explore the Negombo Lagoon.

Early risers have the option of beginning the day with a visit to the fish market in Negombo every day (except Sunday). Nearly all of the food produced by the Indian Ocean is available at the fish market.

Following a breakfast, we proceed to the Sigiriya (North Central part of the island). Once you arrived to Sigirya, you will have the opportunity to see free wild elephants at Minneriya National Park. Which is well-known for its large elephant herds.

After the safari, return to the hotel which we have in Sigirya.

Stay Overnight at Sigiriya.

You have an early breakfast (7.30 AM) before venturing through the banks of the Kandalama Wewa Reservoir. Lush hills and verdant plains lead to the captivating
mountaintops that surround the ancient reservoir's banks. Then your guide will lead you through the jungle to Sigirya Rock Fortress, where you will climb ancient steps to the top. At the top, there are beautiful frescoes, a mirror wall, and a final stairway built through huge lion paws carved into the rock.

Next you will be escorted by your guide to visit ancient ruins at Polonnaruwa that are drenched in morning yellow sunlight (Sightseeing of Polonnaruwa). In 1982, the ruins of Sri Lanka's second royal city were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Between the 10th and the 13th centuries, the island's commercial and religious hub was Polonnaruwa. Even today, the numerous remnants of the former gardens, palaces, and temples serve as evidence of this.

Next you'll return to your hotel to relax.

Stay overnight at Sigiriya.

After breakfast, travel to the Cave Temple of Dambulla, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has many Buddhist features, statues, and frescoes. About 80 temples make up the complex, which also has 153 Buddha statues and a ton of beautiful frescoes and rock paintings. The fantastic views and the temples, which are worth every effort, make the brief ascent worthwhile despite the fact that it can be strenuous.

Next on the way In additionally, visit Matale Hindu temple that flaunts spectrum of colors. Located at the Centre of the island and this cave temples are masterpieces of Buddhist art. Each is filled murals depicting scenes from the Buddha’s life, and Gilded statues of Buddha in various poses.

After that, the route continues to Kandy., Moreover visit the Nalanda Gedige (Midpoint of the Island)/ Matale Aluvihara Temple. After the arrival to the city of Kandy, check-in to the hotel. Evening you have the opportunity to visit the Temple of Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) & witness for a Cultural Dance.

Start your day with a visit through the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, a lush haven of rare plant species and Depart for Nuwara Eliya in the afternoon, known as "Little England" for its colonial charm and cool climate. En route, visit a tea plantation and factory to witness the tea-making process. Enjoy panoramic views at Ramboda Falls and Blue Field Tea Gardens.

Upon reaching Nuwara Eliya, explore Gregory Lake Park, surrounded by picturesque landscapes. Check into your hotel and unwind, savoring the serene atmosphere of this hill station.

Embark on an early morning journey from Nuwara Eliya, the 'Little England' of Sri Lanka, towards the breathtaking Horton Plains National Park. Explore the iconic World's End, a dramatic cliff with panoramic views. Marvel at Baker's Falls, a cascading waterfall amidst the verdant landscape.

Enjoy a picturesque train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, traversing through the lush tea plantations and misty mountains. The journey offers stunning vistas and a glimpse into local life.

Arrive in Ella, a charming hill station. Unwind and relish the serene atmosphere. Perhaps explore Ella's Rock or Little Adam's Peak for mesmerizing sunset views.

Start your day in Ella with a hearty breakfast, enjoying the breathtaking views of the Ella Gap. Depart for Rawana Falls, an iconic waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. Capture the beauty and feel the refreshing mist.

Proceed to Buduruwagala, known for its remarkable rock carvings and towering Buddha statues. Explore the historical and artistic marvels of this hidden gem.

Continue your journey to Yala National Park, famed for its diverse wildlife. Embark on a thrilling safari, where encounters with elephants, leopards, and exotic bird species await. The park's unique landscapes provide a stunning backdrop for wildlife photography.

As the day winds down, head to your accommodation near Yala. Relax, share stories of the day's adventures, and prepare for more excitement in the days ahead.

Stay overnight at Ella (Tissamaharama).

Start your day with an early morning safari (Optional) in Yala National Park, renowned for its diverse wildlife, including leopards, elephants, and exotic birds. Your expert guide will navigate through the park, providing insights into the flora and fauna. After the safari, embark on a scenic journey towards Galle.

En route, stop at notable landmarks and charming villages. In Galle, explore the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, a colonial-era gem boasting cobblestone streets, Dutch architecture, and vibrant markets. Enjoy leisure time to stroll along the fort walls or shop for souvenirs. Opt for a relaxing evening by the beach or indulge in Galle's culinary delights.

Stay overnight at Ella (Tissamaharama).

Begin your day with a leisurely exploration of Galle, depart Galle for Kosgoda, renowned for its Turtle Hatchery. Witness the conservation efforts and get up close with these incredible creatures.

Enroute to Ambalangoda, delve into the vibrant culture at the Mask Museum and Workshop. Learn about the traditional artistry behind Sri Lankan masks.

Finally Proceed to Colombo, the capital city, where modernity meets tradition. Conclude your day with an exploration of Colombo's highlights. Visit the Independence Square, Gangaramaya Temple, and stroll along Galle Face Green.

Following breakfast, we continue directly to Colombo and have a city excursion throughout the hustling buzzing city of Colombo and to collect some sweet memories from this Tropical Island.

Afterward, have quick refreshments and your guide will bring you to the airport, depending on the timing of your flight to have a safe journey back to your home!!!

Frequently asked Questions

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will to, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, hot water facility could be free at lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during off season.

It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.

    – A 40% deposit is required upon booking for the confirmation which is refundable according to the cancelation policy.

    – From the 14th day to the 8th day before departure: 20% of the travel price.
    – From the 7th day to the 4th day before departure: 50% of the travel price.
    – From the 3rd day before departure: 100% of the travel price.
