Description
Nestled in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, Kandy is a cultural and natural treasure that provides the ideal fusion of wildlife, nature, and history. The revered Temple of the Tooth, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is located in Kandy, the island’s former capital and a place where tourists can experience Sri Lanka’s spiritual core. There is an abundance of greenery all around the city, including peaceful gardens and Kandy Lake.
Hiking trails through dense forests and a variety of wildlife can be found in the Knuckles Rainforest, a biodiversity hotspot, for those who enjoy the outdoors. Kandy is a destination that everyone will remember because of the nearby Udawattekele Sanctuary, which is another sanctuary for nature lovers and birdwatchers.
